Safety should be your top priority. Never attempt to swim at the base of a large waterfall unless it is a designated safe zone; undercurrents and slippery rocks are deceptive and dangerous. Always wear sturdy, non-slip footwear as the paths are often wet and muddy. Respect all warning signs and barricades, and never venture off the marked trails. If you are visiting with children, keep them within arm’s reach at all times, especially near the edge of viewing platforms.

The Dhuandhar Falls on the Narmada River is famous for the "smoke" (dhuan) like mist created by the powerful force of the water as it plunges through the world-famous Marble Rocks of Bhedaghat. The river narrows significantly before the drop, concentrating its power. On a full moon night, the sight of the white water against the white marble is considered one of the most beautiful spiritual experiences in Central India.
