Corbett is divided into multiple zones like Dhikala, Bijrani, and Jhirna, with Dhikala being the most sought-after. It is highly recommended to book your safari 90 to 120 days in advance, especially for the peak season, as permits are limited and sell out very quickly.

The Desert National Park near Jaisalmer offers a starkly different experience, focusing on species that have adapted to the harsh Thar Desert. We recommend at least 3 to 4 days for a comprehensive wildlife experience. This allows for 4 to 6 safari drives, significantly increasing your chances of spotting elusive predators like tigers or leopards. Many parks also offer nature walks, bird-watching tours, and visits to nearby tribal villages, which require extra time. A longer stay also helps you appreciate the smaller wonders of the forest, from unique insects to diverse flora, often missed on a single drive.

The ideal time for most Indian national parks is from October to June. Most parks in Central and North India close during the monsoon (July to September) due to inaccessible forest roads and the breeding season for many animals. For tiger sightings, the peak summer months of April to June are best, as animals frequent limited water holes. However, for lush green landscapes and bird-watching, the post-monsoon months of November to February are most pleasant.

Pack lightweight, neutral-colored clothing (khaki, olive, or brown) to blend in with the surroundings; avoid bright colors or strong perfumes. Essential gear includes a good pair of binoculars, a camera with a telephoto lens, a hat, sunglasses, and high-SPF sunscreen. Depending on the season, carry a windcheater or light woolen layers for early morning drives, which can be surprisingly chilly.
