Pro Tips
Head to "Bhedaghat" in Jabalpur for a boat ride through the Marble Rocks on a full-moon night; the white marble cliffs reflecting on the Narmada is a world-class experience.
Visit the "Omkareshwar" temple island via the suspension bridge (Jhula Pul) but return by a local boat to experience the river’s deep gorge and the ancient carvings on the banks.
Note that the boat rides at "Dhuandhar Falls" only take you up to a certain point; for the best view of the misty "Smoke Cascade," use the cable car (ropeway) instead.
Carry a wide-brimmed hat for the "Maheshwar" boat rides; the Narmada is very wide here and the sun reflects intensely off the water, especially near the Ahilya Fort ghats.
Check dam releases that create sudden water surges.
Never touch or disturb religious offerings or rituals.
