Nohkalikai Falls is the tallest plunge waterfall in India located near Cherrapunji in the state of Meghalaya. The waterfall drops dramatically from a height of over 340 meters into a turquoise pool below. This results in an incredible density of massive waterfalls, including Nohkalikai (India’s tallest plunge fall), Seven Sisters Falls, and Elephant Falls. The peak season for waterfalls is during the monsoon (July to September) and the immediate post-monsoon months (October to November). This is when the cascades are at their most powerful, and the surrounding vegetation is a vibrant, lush green. However, keep in mind that extremely heavy rains can sometimes lead to road closures or restricted access to the base of the falls for safety reasons. For a more balanced experience with clearer skies, the months of September and October are ideal.
